Dear Angler!
The purpose of these local fishing regulations is to ensure compliance with and enforcement of the national fishing regulations as well as the rules of Gyékényes és Környéke Horgász és Szabadidő Egyesület adapted to local conditions.
I. General regulatory provisions
1. Before commencing fishing, the angler is obliged to become familiar with and, during fishing, to comply with the provisions of Act CII of 2013 on Fisheries and the Protection of Fish (Fisheries Act – Hhvtv.) and Decree 133/2013 (XII. 29.) of the Ministry of Rural Development (Implementing Decree – Vhr.), as well as the National Fishing Regulations (OHR) and these Local Fishing Regulations.
2. The Local Fishing Regulations (HHR) constitute a collection of rules that apply generally and specifically to the above-mentioned fishery water body and to all types of area tickets issued for it. These rules may not contradict laws, the provisions of the OHR, or official fishery authority decisions. The local fishing regulations for the current year must be published by the start of area ticket sales and remain valid for the same period as the OHR of the given year.
3. The local fishing regulations may not contradict statutory provisions; however, based on legal authorisation, the fishery management organisation may impose stricter restrictions, and the fishery authority may order relaxations. Such deviations must always be explicitly listed in the local fishing regulations. In the absence of deviations, it is not mandatory to repeat the general statutory provisions (Hhvtv., Vhr.) in the local regulations, as the essential rules are also contained in the angler’s catch logbook.
4. The basic conditions for practising fishing include possession of valid fishing documents and other documents related to the area ticket (proof of area reservation), and their availability at the fishing place at all times.
5. By purchasing an area ticket, the angler also enters into a civil law contract with the issuer of the ticket and, within this framework, consents to the processing of their data in accordance with current legislation for the intended purpose.
6. We inform you that a fishing ticket purchased in error can only be cancelled within the 30-minute time limit provided by the system during online sales. After this period, the price of incorrectly purchased tickets will not be refunded.
7. A supplementary ticket to the area ticket may only be issued to provide additional services or fishing opportunities that are not covered by the given area ticket.
8. As prescribed by the area ticket issuer, the angler must carry the area ticket and present the fishing regulations for inspection on a suitable device (e.g., tablet, smartphone screen) during the fishing period without printing.
9. Before starting fishing, the angler is entitled and obliged to become familiar with the current fishing information for the water body indicated on the area ticket. The information service may be provided in the manner determined and published by the fishing organisation or through ad hoc warden information. Current information is available on www.gyekenyesipontyhorgasz.hu and the Nagy Ponty Horgász Gyékényes Facebook page.
10. The area ticket issuer reserves the right to make interim changes to the HHR, but must notify anglers of such changes at least 8 days in advance in a credible manner through the information channels and platforms specified in the local fishing regulations. If the publication is made in accordance with this rule, the angler may not invoke lack of notification in fishery management procedures that may lead to revocation of the area ticket or prohibition from purchase. Current information is available on www.gyekenyesipontyhorgasz.hu and the Nagy Ponty Horgász Gyékényes Facebook page.
11. If the angler can prove that they were not notified of changes to the fishing regulations related to the area ticket or of an ordered temporary ban, they cannot be held responsible. In addition to fishery management regulations, proof of notification includes messages sent to the e-mail address registered in the HORINFO system or messages/documents displayed when opening the angler’s personal profile, or announcements on the authorised official website. All notifications must be delivered or published at least 48 hours before the change or the start of the ban.
12. On the fishery water body, fish become the property of the angler through lawful catch and recording in the catch log. Recording must be done exclusively in the log and, in addition to these rules, in the manner specified in the local fishing regulations. The rights holder to fisheries may not charge a separate fee for taking fish (excluding supplementary tickets purchased in advance for additional take).
13. Fishery manager’s telephone number for reporting irregularities: +36 30 604 6012
II. Provisions of the fishery manager concerning area use, environmental protection, and place reservation on sections permitted for general shore fishing and on named, numbered fishing stands
14. Fishing is permitted all year round, 24 hours a day (00:00–24:00).
15. Fishing and staying for fishing purposes is only allowed at the locations marked on the attached map. According to local characteristics, fishing on the lake is divided into two categories:
1. the STATIKUS (HOLIDAY HOME ROW) and
2. the NAMED NUMBERED FISHING STANDS regime.
16. A static fishing place (within a minimum 2.5-metre radius from the planned position of the rigs) may only be occupied if the rubbish already present there has been removed beforehand.
These are the shore sections marked with a green dashed line on the map attached to these Local Fishing Regulations (HOLIDAY HOME ROW: A, B, C SECTORS PRIVATE OWNED FISHING HOUSES, RENTABLE PROPERTIES, CAMPING BAY, MUNICIPAL SHORE SECTION).
Fishing is prohibited on the section marked in red with -x-x-x-!
On the beach area designated by the Municipality of Gyékényes, fishing is generally prohibited every year from 1 June to 31 August.
On static fishing places – i.e., on the built-up holiday home row and municipal areas – it is forbidden to pitch a tent or park a caravan for overnight stay for fishing purposes. (Tent use and caravan fishing is permitted in the areas designated for this purpose on the lake. Conditions are regulated in point 17 for rentable places.)
Pre-booking of static fishing places is not required; they are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis.
The use and construction of piers is regulated by the Municipality of Gyékényes. For topics related to the pier regulation, the local municipality is competent. The pier regulation is available by clicking the following link: Municipal Decree No. 7/2025. (IV. 24.) of the Representative Body of Gyékényes Municipality on the construction and maintenance of piers on Gyékényes Gravel Pit Lake:
Download the pier regulation: https://or.njt.hu/eli/731520/r/2025/7
On the holiday home row section, fishing may commence after purchasing an area ticket following the rental of privately owned fishing houses or after purchasing a DAILY area ticket on free shore sections.
THREE TICKET TYPES ARE AVAILABLE FOR STATIC FISHING PLACES:
1. PERIOD SHORE AREA TICKET: 2-rod ticket authorising shore or pier fishing with cast rigs. Use of boat, bait boat, and towing in rigs is prohibited with the shore ticket.
2. PERIOD GENERAL AREA TICKET: 2-rod ticket authorising fishing with any permitted method (boilie, predator, clonking, spinning, float, bottom fishing, etc.), using a boat or bait boat.
From static fishing places, boat use is possible in the area marked with a blue line on the map, towards the holiday home row. On the lake’s named places and rented fishing stands, anglers with valid reservations for those places are entitled to boat use.
3. ANNUAL GENERAL AREA TICKET: 2-rod ticket authorising fishing with any permitted method, using a boat or bait boat.
17. FISHING FROM NAMED FISHING STANDS THESE ARE THE FISHING PLACES MARKED IN YELLOW WITH NUMBERS ON THE MAP Fishing from named fishing stands is only possible with prior reservation through the customer service office.
Reservations are fixed for any period of the year. If someone wishes to purchase a ticket on the day of arrival to the stand, it can only be provided depending on remaining available places. Named stands may be occupied for fishing purposes only for the duration of the reservation. Only persons with a valid reservation for the given place may stay there. The property of the named fishing stands with rented tent and caravan use is private property! After the expiry of the area ticket, the named fishing stand must be handed over in a tidy, clean condition. Information on the named fishing stands is available on the map attached as an annex to these Local Fishing Regulations and on our website. These fishing stands may include additional services (parking, electricity point, sanitary facilities, sonar – fish finder, bait boat use, etc.) compared to other shore fishing. Boilies with towing-in method, tent, caravan use, boat fishing is only possible from the named fishing stands equipped with PEG numbers. We draw anglers’ attention to the fact that we are continuously developing the infrastructure of the named fishing stands known as “Railway Bank”. Sanitary facilities have been put into operation in front of PEG 3 place, in the sanitary container next to the access road, toilets and washrooms are available. Protecting the natural environment, collecting rubbish, using and transporting waste collection bags to the container placed at the old mine entrance, in front of the reception, is the obligation of the angler using the area. On the islands, the use of single-use portable or cardboard toilets suitable for faecal removal is mandatory for the angler, and everyone is obliged to provide and remove it themselves after fishing. If someone does not have their own mobile toilet, we provide it upon request. The available sanitary facilities and placed toilets are marked on the map. We ask for the cooperation of anglers and increased attention to avoiding environmental pollution and preserving the natural state of the fishing places. After fishing, please place the collected rubbish in the collection container at the entrance. We inform anglers that the Association, as the fishery manager, checks the left-behind place after the area user leaves to protect the clean environment. If the warden finds a littered, untidy environment after someone, we notify the person renting the area, record the case in the minutes, and in the next case, we do not provide the opportunity for further reservation. Therefore, we strongly ask everyone who notices a littered shore section to report it to us immediately by phone. Thank you.
TWO TICKET TYPES ARE AVAILABLE FOR NAMED FISHING STANDS:
1. PERIOD SPORT AREA FISHING TICKET: 3 rods, any permitted method equipped rig, boat, radar, bait boat, tow-in boilie fishing authorising area ticket. Without fish take, “catch & release – catch and release!”
2. PERIOD GENERAL AREA TICKET: 2-rod ticket authorising fishing with any permitted method (boilie, predator, clonking, spinning, float, bottom fishing, etc.), using a boat or bait boat. Fish take in the quantity permitted by the HHR.
18. Rules for fishing from the named zone, from the named fishing stands marked with yellow numbers on the map, reservation procedure: We draw anglers’ attention that to occupy the fishing stand and start fishing, first the reservation of the named fishing stand area is necessary through the customer service. Online purchase of the area fishing ticket through HORINFO alone does not entitle entry to the named places marked with yellow numbers; a valid area reservation is required for that! (Just like in the case of fishing from a static fishing place, if they want to fish from a holiday home, they first book accommodation before purchasing the ticket!) Fishing on Gyékényes Gravel Pit Lake and reserving places for named fishing stands No. 5–31 and purchasing tickets can be done on the customer service phone numbers +36 30 717 8560 and the e-mail gyekenyesipontyhorgasz@gmail.com. Reservations can be made continuously for any period of the year. Due to the high number of interested parties, the phone line is busy; if you called the number but we could not answer, please be patient, we will call you back. During the phone conversation, based on a short needs assessment, we determine the fishing stand number, reservation date, data of arriving anglers and companions, based on which we prepare a reservation offer. We send the offer data sheet by e-mail at the end of the conversation. The reservation offer is valid for 7 days, during which it can be modified if necessary or validated by advance bank transfer. If no notification arrives for validation of the reservation or extension of the offer period after 7 days, we delete the offer. The fee in the offer must be settled by bank transfer to the account number indicated by the service provider. Cash payment is possible only during personal purchase at the customer service office. We issue an invoice for the paid fee on the day of receipt and prepare the area tickets by the start of fishing. We send the documents in a confirmation e-mail. It is not necessary to print the confirmation e-mail and tickets; we hand them over personally upon arrival at the reception at the entrance to the fishing stands. It is important that the final fixing and validation of the reservation takes place only after payment of the fee. Paid fees are not refunded. In case of unforeseen reasons for change before the reservation time, fishing with the same parameters can be rescheduled until the end of the following year according to the current price list.
19. Detailed information on ticket prices and types, as well as reservable named fishing stands is available on the website. The area fee for the yellow, numbered named places may vary by period and location, so please inquire about current prices at the customer service. In case of questions, call our customer service.
20. The customer service operates Monday–Friday 08:00–16:00, and outside these hours, by phone agreement in the evening and on weekends, receives customers.
21. In the hours before arrival at the reserved named fishing stand, please contact our guard service colleague on +36 30 425 6194 or +36 30 389 4936. Our guard service operates 0–24 hours. The guard meets the arriving guest at the reception at the entrance, hands over the pre-prepared tickets, provides information on the local fishing regulations, gives a waste collection bag, and escorts the anglers to the fishing stand. The guard service staff also assist in moving to the islands with the warden boat. Together, they inspect the condition of the fishing stand. At the end of the programme, the angler must take the waste generated during the stay to the container at the entrance. The guard service checks the condition of the fishing stand upon departure. Please leave the place as you would like to find it upon arrival, clean and waste-free. Thank you.
22. Electricity supply and possible charging needs can be reported to the guard service, who will come to the site, take the devices to charge, and return them charged. If needed, boat, boat motor, tent, tent heater, gas cylinder, mobile toilet, battery, other equipment can be rented for the fishing period. If someone has a need for storing frozen goods, we also help with that, store it. For individual requests, call the guard or customer service phone. Catering establishments open all year on the lakeshore operate, from which food is delivered to the fishing stands.
23. Boat use rules: The general or sport ticket entitles the use of boat, bait boat; boat cannot be used with the shore ticket. Boat use is possible in the two zones designated on the water body. From static fishing places, in the section marked with a blue band on the map – typically along the line of the holiday home row and the island, peninsula. On the lake’s railway bank and gravel pit side, anglers with valid reservations for that area use the water area allocated to the designated named fishing stands with boats.
On the managed water, boat use is only possible at own risk, exclusively with electric boat motors. Explosive engines can only be used by authorised persons. The presence of mandatory boat equipment is necessary! At night and in limited visibility conditions, lighting of the fishing stand and the watercraft used for fishing is mandatory. In boat fishing, approaching other free shore parts, other boats, and water management structures at less than 20 metres outside the harbour entrance and exit is prohibited.
24. The user of the fishing boat or fishing vessel must ensure that the boat’s equipment and technical condition complies with current legal requirements.
25. Buoy placement in the water: When placing buoys, consideration must be given to adjacent and opposite shore fishing stands. Buoys can only be placed up to the imaginary dividing line of the adjacent and opposite fishing stand. Deviation is only possible if no fishing is taking place in those stands. Only the H buoy and deep-water buoy are permitted among the buoys; the tube buoy with a maximum 4-metre line is permitted, which can be anchored with a maximum of 400 g weight. The buoy can be placed at the start of fishing and must be removed from the water at the end of fishing. Left buoys will be removed.
26. Tools and objects used to mark the place during fishing must always be removed from the water after fishing. With a shore ticket, placing buoys and marker objects in the water is prohibited.
27. Tent, caravan erection for the fishing period is only permitted on the named fishing stands marked with yellow numbers on the map. After fishing, the tent, caravan must be removed from the waterside. Exception is permitted on the holiday home row section for the duration of competitions, based on individual, ad hoc agreement with the holiday home, pier owner, municipality, the use of tent, caravan, motorhome set up on the fishing stand.
28. Casting and placing rigs at the fishing stand can only be done if it does not pose a hazard to others. On fishery water bodies also used for water transport, it is prohibited to use a fishing method that blocks more than half of the bed of fish passages created in the water flow, standing water, and their periodic connections during application. The casting and towing directions from static and named fishing stands are marked on the map attached to these Local Fishing Regulations. We ask anglers to familiarise themselves with the casting directions before occupying the stand – using the map for the given zone’s casting direction. During warden inspection, an angler using non-compliant casting direction will be warned for the first time, called upon to end fishing for the second time, and the action will result in revocation of the area permit!
29. During the fishing stand or fishing, beyond fishing activities, according to nature protection rules, it is prohibited to change, disturb the state or quality of the local wildlife, pollute the water, and any form of littering. Protecting the natural and built environment and maintaining cleanliness is the duty of users, with liability for damages.

53. On the designated free-water bathing area (beach) – during its official opening hours – fishing is prohibited without the permission of the beach operator.
54. In addition to fishing rigs – the area ticket holder may occasionally use 1 bait fish lifting net with max 1 m² surface or – also used with lifting technique – landing net, exclusively for collecting bait fish necessary for fishing, not larger than 15 cm – catchable status. If an alien invasive fish accidentally gets into the net during bait fish collection, it cannot be placed back into the fishing water.
55. The catchable size range of individual fish species, the annual total takeable fish quantity and daily number limit are detailed in the Ticket Matrix table of these Local Fishing Regulations. 60. Annex 1 contains the Ticket Matrix table with selectable ticket types for the water body, applicable fishing method with the given ticket type, rig use, size, weight and number limits for catchable and takeable fish, ticket price. The fishable shore section and named fishing stands, casting directions, boat use limits are contained in Annex 2 Map attached to these Local Fishing Regulations. Contacts of the fishery manager are in Annex 3. By purchasing a fishing ticket, the angler acknowledges the fishing regulations and recognises them as binding on themselves.
V. Fish protection and angling ethics provisions
61. The fishery manager plans the identification marking of individuals over 15 kg; for this purpose, the angler has a reporting obligation to the warden service. Phone: +36 30 389 4936 or +36 30 425 6195
62. Determination of individual rules for record fish Record catches must be reported to the warden service. The caught record becomes authentic with weighing certified by the warden. The fishery manager photographs and videos the caught fish for marketing and advertising purposes. Photos or videos of the caught record taken by the angler or warden can be sent to gyekenyesipontyhorgasz@gmail.com. The angler can share their fishing experience with a short success story description or video check-in, which the Fishery Manager publishes on online communication channels and printed publications. By sending image and audio material to the above e-mail address, the sender expressly consents to public display. In the same way, other fishing experiences can be sent, and the Fishery Manager decides on their publication at its own discretion.
63. Use of wire keepnet (except for bullhead), as well as built metal fish storage (cage) for holding fish is prohibited.
64. Increasing the number of hooks according to factory lure attachment points, attaching additional hooks under one hook, modification to facilitate external hooking is prohibited.
65. Unjustified deep hooking in predator fishing is prohibited.
66. Use of three-pronged hook, wire leader, cutting hook is not restricted.
• For predator fish, use of gloves, hook release scissors is recommended.
• At named fishing stands, use of large unhooking mat, cradle and wound disinfectant is mandatory. For rig selection, 0.30 mm main line and 0.50 mm leader line is recommended.
• For casting method, use of unhooking mat and cradle is recommended; however, if a large +15 kg fish is caught, use of unhooking mat or cradle is mandatory. If someone does not have such equipment, notify the warden service, we provide it.
67. During fishing, leaving cast rigs unattended or entrusting their supervision to others is prohibited. A rig is considered guarded/supervised if the angler can start playing the fish immediately in case of visual bite indicator, within 2 minutes from detection in case of sound and remote bite indicator.
68. Arbitrary marking or mutilation of caught fish is prohibited.
69. It is the individual responsibility of the angler to use fishing tools and equipment suitable for the target fish, also ensuring fish welfare, and to maintain physically suitable condition for fishing throughout the entire fishing period.
70. It is the moral and ethical duty of the angler to help other anglers, pass on experiences, support elderly angler companions and child anglers.
71. Fishing boat, fishing vessel use can only be done by selecting appropriate speed, without endangering or disturbing other angler companions and water traffic participants.
72. During spawning, reproduction period, in the shore band, every angler is responsible for protecting laid eggs and hatched fry as much as possible when selecting speed.
73. When taking angler photos, care must be taken to create aesthetic photos that also express respect for the fish. In the correct photo, the background is the natural environment of the water and waterside, where protruding, scattered equipment, cigarette, food and drink, hand towel rag, waste is not visible. The angler holds the fish preferably kneeling, half-kneeling or squatting; at chest height and horizontally above the cradle or mat, but in the photo the fish protection tool is preferably only partially visible. “Holding out” the fish towards the camera is not aesthetic; the correct distance is arm’s length, also helping to maintain weight. The fish should be clean, so rinse mud, grass blades, mucus, possible blood with fresh water. It is advisable to take several photos to eliminate blinking and/or fish movements. Ethical photo cannot be taken with a cigarette in the mouth or holding the fish with a rag. In sunlight, care must be taken that the face of the hat-wearing angler remains shaded without flash. During photography, extra care must be taken for gentle handling and movement of fish, as large specimens are much more sensitive to dropping or pressing than average-sized fish. The most important is fish protection; if professional quick photography cannot be ensured, the fish must be released immediately.
74. Spread photos of unwanted fish can only be taken exceptionally, during competition weighing, or with individual fishery manager permission.
75. Reporting another’s caught fish as record catch is unethical and prohibited.
76. Disinfecting the fish before release into the water is always mandatory. Use of coloured disinfectants is only supported after photography. Then, disinfection of all visible wounds is recommended, in addition to removing possible parasites.
77. Upon release, the fish may only be released if it can maintain its equilibrium position by its own power and its movement (escape reflex) has started.
78. Exchange of lawfully caught and thus keepable fish, handing over and gifting on the shore, within the fishing stand, as well as sale of caught fish is prohibited. Exchange means when the fish is already in the keepnet (for predator, mouth clamp) and the angler wants to exchange it for a later caught fish on the fishing stand.
